A beautiful vintage
2006 was a year of extremes, but one that has yielded a vast array of beautiful wines amongst the reds and the whites. That such a result was achieved can be viewed as something of a triumph over adversity, with an unseasonably cool August counter-balanced by fine, hot months either side of it.
Why buy en primeur?
Buying en primeur involves buying wines before they have been released – before they are even bottled in most cases – and taking delivery later this year. The reasons that customers buy en primeur include the following:
It is the only time when the real gems are offered.
We have only included wines that we think will be hard to find in the future – the rest will be offered when in bottle.
It is the cheapest way of buying Burgundy.
It is the best way to guarantee that your stock is kept in excellent condition from its release until the day you drink it.
The Offer
Although we do not expect quite the same level of demand that we had for the 2005's, tt is worth pointing out that many of the wines featured in this offer usually sell out, and some estates have made less wine in 2006 than they did the previous year. It would therefore be advisable to order early to be sure of securing the wines that you want. We will be offering wines from the following estates:
- Pierre Damoy, Gevrey-Chambertin
- Sylvie Esmonin, Gevrey-Chambertin
- Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, Vosne-Romanée
- Domaine d'Eugénie, Vosne-Romanée
- Robert Chevillon, Nuits St-Georges
- Henri Gouges, Nuits St-Georges
- Château de Chorey, Chorey-Lès-Beaune
- Chandon de Briailles, Savigny-Lès-Beaune
- François & Antoine Jobard, Meursault
- Patrick Javillier, Meursault
- Louis Carillon, Puligny-Montrachet
- Gagnard-Delagrange, Chassagne-Montrachet
- Paul Pillot, Chassagne-Montrachet
- Jean-Marc Morey, Chassagne-Montrachet
- Hubert Lamy, Saint-Aubin
- Joseph Roty, Gevrey-Chambertin (2005 vintage)
- Philippe Roty, Gevrey-Chambertin (2005 vintage)
