1) How to find a wine

We have provided different criteria to help you search for your wine. If you are searching for a particular wine, you can enter its name into the Search field on the top left-hand corner of the site, e.g. type “Cederberg” to find wines from this grower. You can also search by region, vintage range (by year), the colour of wine (red, white, rose), the price range and the HHB product code.

2) To know more about a wine

If you want more information about a wine, please click on the name of the wine. You will be presented with details about the Grower and our wine-experts tasting notes.

3) Can I 'bookmark' a wine for later?

A certain wine appeals to you, and you'd like to select it while continuing with your search. This is where the 'add to basket' facility is most useful. It allows you to add an item to 'My Basket', which you can return to in the course of your browsing. All items can be easily removed from the basket later, so at this point you are not committing yourself to ordering the wine selected.

4) My search is completed - how do I order?

Step 1 – finalising your selection

You've added several items to your basket. You wish to place an order, but would like to review your selection beforehand.
Clicking on the 'Basket' tab at the top right hand corner of your screen will take you to 'Your Basket'.

At this point you may remove one of the items selected, by clicking on the 'trash can' icon, or increase the quantity to be ordered (per case of one, three, six, or twelve bottles depending on the wine).

Step 2 - the order form and how to register address details

At the next stage you will be asked to create a ‘user account'. The benefits of this system are that you will only be required to type in your address details once, however many orders you place, you can access these details on future visits to the site, as well as information concerning the status of all your orders, and your subscriptions to our e-mail newsletters.

To create this account, all we ask you to do is to fill out the form, entering your email address and choosing a password.

Please note that we do not keep records of any of your credit card or bank details, so your login and password will not provide you with access to these.

Once you have saved this initial account information--please make sure to tick the ‘I am over 18' field--the next step is to confirm or modify the delivery address.

At this stage you can inform us if you want us to send this wine as a gift, and type in a gift message, which we will post to the recipient. You also have the option to specify delivery instructions.

Step 3 - Payment details

The order process is completed: you are shown a summary of your order details, which you are asked to confirm, and which will be confirmed by us via e-mail within 24 hours. All that remains is the payment.

Payment is made online by debit or credit card (including Visa, Mastercard, Switch and AMEX) using our secure payment systems.

5) The order is placed - how long does delivery take?

Providing orders are received by our Order Desk no later than noon on any working day, deliveries to London will be executed the following working day.
 
Mainland England and Wales deliveries (organised on a pre-determined delivery schedule) are usually completed within 3 working days of receipt of order.

6) Out of stock / Wine supply

We carry finite stocks of all wines. If an order is placed for a certain volume of wine , of which we have insufficient stock, we reserve the right to replace the wine with another wine of equal value and quality or higher.
