Taittinger
Taittinger is one of the greatest names in Champagne. Located in the great regions of wine-growing Champagne, the Champagne Taittinger vines cover 288 hectares evenly distributed over 34 different vineyards, which include some of the appellations finest.
The vineyard's own production is supplemented by contractual acquisition of grapes from independent suppliers operating the finest vineyards in Champagne. In proportion to its size, Taittinger is, amongst the great Champagne houses, one of the growers with the largest supply from the Côtes des Blancs, the preferred place of origin for the Chardonnay grand-crus.
With varietals consisting of 50% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier and 35% Chardonnay, the Taittinger vineyard is an unsurpassed example of the House's own elegant style of wine, in which Chardonnay plays such a significant role. The creamy, richness of the Comptes de Champagne 1999 is a stunning expression of this.
