Established in 1942 by Etienne Grangeon with an initial 2 hectares of Grenache, Domaine de Cristia has rapidly established itself as one of the top estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the top cuvees, the Vieilles Vignes and Cuvée Renaissance becoming highly sought after by drinkers and investors alike.
Over the three generations of the Grangeon family that still run the domaine, Cristia has expanded to 21 hectares and now includes Syrah and Mourvèdre, though Grenache is still the dominant variety both in the vineyards and in the wines. This results in soft and delicate wines which are very approachable in their youth, though the top cuvées are certainly built to last!
