Montepulciano d'Abruzzo was designated as a DOC in 1968. The vineyards are positioned on gentle slopes of Abruzzo and this wine from Rimbaldi is made in the traditional way from 100% Montepulciano grapes.
There is no influence of oak so this purple/ruby coloured wine offers pure, vibrant aromas of red cherry fruit. The satisfying palate is rich with juicy fruit and very approachable, soft tannins. This wine is the classic choice for pizza and pasta dishes.
