Conti Zecca’s history goes back to the 16th century and over 500 years later consistent Gamberro Rosso Three Glass awards confirm this Leverano based property as one of the best in Italy. The high quality can be found in wines throughout the range.
The entry level Donna Marzia range is great value for money. The Malvasia is a dry, unoaked white with plenty of ripe fruit on the rich, medium-bodied palate. It is enjoyed locally with a variety of seafood dishes. The Negramaro is bursting with red berry fruit, hints of spices and excellent structure. The Donna Marzia Rosé is deep in colour with a dry palate, rose petal character and aromatic strawberry fruit. The Nero IGT Salento Primitivo is a serious superstar blend of Negroamaro and Cabernet Sauvignon that is a truly fine wine capable of prolonged ageing. It has spent 12 months in 3000 litre oak barrels and is full-bodied with a rich texture and sweet spice finish.
